Vladivostok, Russia (September 09, 2012) -Video from RIA Novosti (Видео с Российское агентство международных новостей) Russian President Vladimir Putin gave a press conference on Sunday, after the official part of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum came to an end. The APEC meetings took place in Russia's Far Eastern city of Vladivostok. The region saw much investment into its infrastructure before the event. "What are you talking about, what 600 billion rubles are you implying?" Putin asked after a question suggesting that 600 billion rubles [around $19 bln] was invested into the forum. "Three hundred billion was used to create the gas pipeline system running from Sakhalin to Vladivostok", said Putin, pointing out that although the project may have been linked to the APEC event to some extent, the primary goal was to supply gas to the Primorsky region. "We have created the sewerage, water supply systems, we have expanded the runway, we created new fuelling facilities, a new air terminal was built, three roads were constructed. I've mentioned the construction of the three bridges that we have accomplished as well. We invested into other infrastructure facilities which even have nothing to do with Russky Island, they have to do with Vladivostok and the Primorsky region."
