Eight below is inspired by the event in 1958, as fifteen Sakhalin Husky sled dogs were abandoned when the expedition team was unable to return to the base. When the team returned a year later, two dogs were still alive. Another seven were still chained up and dead, and six unaccounted for. I don't own anything but editing. Длительность: 3:13
PLEASE HELP TO SAVE THESE BEAR CUBS! It breaks my heart to find out about the situation on Sakhalin Island in the Russian Far East (just north of Japan) where 3 bear cubs from 2 mothers who were shot in spring banded together in the wild. The cubs have since migrated to a local road near the city of Okha in the north of the Island where local residents feed them. The cubs have become habituated to humans, who even hand-feed them. Now the mayor of Okha is pushing a resolution to destroy the cubs "in the nearest future". Please help to raise awareness about this upcoming execution and help these cubs to stay alive. Share this video with as many people as you know. The local authorities failed to find the solution other than just to shoot the poor things. My hope is that international animal lovers will show some support and speak up against such cruelty. NO donations needed. Only your attention, your voice! Are a group of treeless Russian islands located 175 kilometres (109 mi) east of the Kamchatka Peninsula in the Russian Far East,in the Bering Sea. Due to the high productivity of the Bering Sea shelf and the Pacific slope and their remoteness from human influence, the Commander Islands are marked by a great abundance of marine animal life and a relative paucity of terrestrial organisms. This is Hana, a 12-year old Karafuto Ken (Sakhalin Husky). She, along with her brother (same litter), Kuma, is one of two purebred Karafutos remaining in Japan. She belongs to legendary Japanese dogsled racer Abe Isami, who would have liked for her to spend a portion of her younger life in a zoo where Japanese children could visit her and learn about this disappearing breed. At 12, her health is fragile and the opportune time for such a project is long gone. The two best-known Karafuto Ken, brothers Taro and Jiro, are household names in Japan. They survived for over a year without any human help in Antarctica. Despite Taro and Jiro's enduring fame, this breed of dog faces imminent extinction.
